Title: Pre St. Patrick’s day feast
Post by: Perazzimx14 on March 16, 2021, 04:28:41 PM
Since Irish food is as good as Italian beer tonight we’re having wings, chicken strips and hush puppies.

Erin go BRALESS!  :thumb:  I'll be making corn beef, cabbage, little red taters and carrots with a side of nice horseradish and wash it all down with a cool to room temp Guinness

Tomorrow breakfast will include white irish pudding, fresh eggs and some Irish soda bread.

Dinner will be curry chicken chips (fries) along with bangers and mash.

Being a first generation Irish American I wasn't taught to do the Irish AMERICAN thing.

I bought a brisket last week while thinking about it then couldn't wait. Cabbage, red taters, carrots, onions. Cooked in 1/2 beer in slow cooker. Melt in your mouth.

We Italians tolerate the green beer as it means we are only two days removed from St. Joseph's Day.
I will hoist a Guinness in the Irish honor, just because............ ..............

I already did my dinner last Sunday. Corned beef (in the package store brand with a spice bag), white potatoes and carrots. I love cabbage, it doesn't always love me . In the pressure cooker. About 1.5 hours including bringing up the pressure twice. Yum yum. 3 days of it!

And at about $5 per package, I bought 2. Froze one for latter

First course down, though I went with a scone over the soda bread (almost the same thing).

I call this the 1/2 Irish Breakfast, yuck-yuck, cause ya know, I'm half-Iri.... oh nevermind.

By Dna testing I'm 2 percent Irish...Or Scottish
Corned Beef and potatoes in the Insta-Pot. Then into the oven to dry it slightly. Cabbage made separate because I hate the taste of cabbage in the meat..

I cook the meat in the ip for 60 minutes and remove it. Then cook cab, carrots & taters with the juices for 3 minutes and quick release. I like the meat juice in the vegetables but not the other way 'round. :thumb:

One of our local restaurants always has a most delicious corned beef plate for Saint Patrick's Day
Today was no exception.
