I have been calling my friend in Tucson all week and only got a robot voice saying that the voicemail was full and no
messages were being taken. I was calling to make arrangements to ship him my 750 Honda with sidecar. Finally I got a human voice answering.
She was his daughter and told me that he was riding in Tucson when he was hit by a drunk driver and died at the scene.
He was stopped at a light and the drunk hit him from behind at speed, killing him almost instantly. The drunk has been charged with
murder. He was my best riding friend and now he is gone. His body was cremated and the ashes spread over the waters of Admiralty inlet near where he ran the Honda dealership for years before retiring to Tucson. I miss him terribly, he was 11 years younger than me and should not have gone that way. I only hope that the younger drunk is convicted of murder as he deserves.
For those of you who knew him it was Jim Minish who owned and ran the Honda shop in Port Townsend.

Very sorry for your loss. I feel like I spent much of my 50's attending funerals. I'm hoping my 60's aren't so busy that way.

Oh me, Jim. So sorry to hear this.

Sorry Jim. In a way I know how you feel as I lost a good Moto Guzzi friend 30 years ago. I was closer to him than I am to my two blood brothers.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, Jim. I can understand it for when my best friend was killed, the emotions blew my mind out for a long time. no other way to describe it . My friend Tom was going to come up from St Joeseph the next day to stay at my place so we could ride some roads but some cell fone talking scum with no insurance ran over him and his aorta was torn from his heart. It affected me as bad or worse than when I lost my younger brother. Eventually I called Ken H. for some advice as I knew he had been through it as well and I admired the way he handled it , at least on the outside. It about killed him on the inside. He told me the passing time has helped some which was sound advice. Take care,
