				doing the valves on a 96 cali 1100i and i came across a procedure that mentions re-torquing the heads, from step 8 here:

 is this a thing? or is the v twin a different beast to mine? never heard of it, nor finishing off the last bit of torque the next day

 i know there’s a lot of controversy over what to set valves to. i’m going back to stock 10/15 i/o as i’ve backfiring going on. they were a bit out, Left was 15/22 and Right was 20/23. i know some people set it to 15/20 so maybe they moved from there.
 
 a quick polish of the heads, balance the bodies, and i’ll test it on the road

				if you fit new head gaskets it's a thing, they compress and re-torqueing is necessary. In fact its best to check after it has been run a few times.
