Sorry if this is yesterday’s hash reheated, but I am looking for an oil that will work for both the gear boxes and final drives on a V11 and a Tonti 850, and I can’t find the 90w Agip the manuals call for. My locals shop has Bel Ray 85/140. Will this do for both gear box and final drives on those bikes? How do you guys like this stuff?

I use Bel Ray 80W/90 for both purposes.

I put Redline Heavy in both, if they never get hot or wear out I will call it good.

Any modern gear oil in the right weight range will be more than adequate. From store brand like WalMart's SuperTech to high end fancy schmancy stuff like Redline Heavy shockproof or Royal Purple magic in a bottle.
I use either Valvoline or SuperTech as that is what is readily/commonly available to me at a reasonable price point.

One of my favorite Roper-isms:
'Oil is good. Put some in.'.

If that's our IOM-TT vintage racer Dave will be the Grand Marshall June 12&13 for the USARA/FIM vintage event at New Hampshire Speedway.

Thank you! I guess I’ll order some 80/90 something and pass on this 85/140 stuff.

If you have a Harley dealer near you, they should have the BelRey oil. At least the dealer near me has what you want and at a reasonable price, basically what an auto parts store would charge.

My clunky, clanky Harley transmission ran the quietest and smoothest with BelRay. And I tried everything. When people complain about Guzzi transmissions I can only laugh, they are the smoothest crankshaft speed transmissions I have ever shifted.
