This should be the invention of the year!
Nothing pisss' me off more than plastic bottles in the water.

It will take a bunch of these to make a dent , but this is a start , and a good one it seems .

the ship can collect between 1 to 3 tonnes of waste per hour, with the objective of collecting 5 to 10,000 tonnes per year.

Hope it works. I wish we would have never come up with the BRILLLIANT idea of bottled water. So wasteful.

We need one 4 times that size working the garbage patch NE of here. It's huge. An underutilized resource of potential energy.

That is where a self replicating AI would be a good thing. If the sailboat would clone itself out of the dredged plastic and be autonomous, the mid Pacific gyre would be cleaned up fast.
