Title: Period Edlorado hard cases
Post by: Canuck750 on May 11, 2021, 09:52:33 PM
Saw these period hard cases on this Eldorado on CL in Oergon, any idea who made them?  I like the look, the fairing not so much....

Enduro bags, I had a set on my former Eldo.  More popular on Beemers of that era, and super RARE on Loopframes.  The cut-outs on the back side were specific to Guzzi’s, and kept them tight to the bike.

As posted above, the originals were Enduro, Air-Tech makes repros but not with the correct Loop specific inner side.

The pair I have on my 72 Eldo.

They are the Enduro brand in black.

A life goal of mine is to fit these to my 1400. I called Airtech and they were less than helpful. Seems you have to be a master craftsman to fit these to the modern bike. This guy did it. I'm very jealous of this guy.

Air Tech products are not bolt on and go. If you can work with fiberglass, recessing the bags for the shocks should be straightforward. figuring bracketry would be the fun bit.

I question your definition of "fun". I'm about as mechanically inclined as a badger. Good at tearing things apart. Putting them back together, not so much. I have money for that but can't find anyone to throw it at.

They look damn near perfect on that 1400 Eldo!

HA! I'm no ace fabricator or genius mechanic either. Maybe you could get a body shop to modify the bags and fab up some flatstock for brackets.

I've cut  recesses in fiberglass and molded around 4" PVC to clear a shock. I'm not familiar with the 1400's frame and have do idea where you could place mounting points. I would go for 3.
