At the recent rally in Cedar Vale at least 2 attendees asked me why their accounts had disappeared . In both cases they had neglected to actually log in to their accounts for years , only viewing the board as a guest , and despite believing it had only been a year since activating their accounts , both kind of admitted it had probably been several years , they had forgotten their password , it was too much trouble to log in , blah blah blah  The server WG runs on purges accounts that have been inactive for long periods of time , nothing we can do about it .
So here's the deal , once you lose your account , Luap has to spend precious time to reactivate it , even when you simply forget your password it makes work for him .
Looking at the WG stats this morning shows about 110 members actually logged in , over 1,000 guests , meaning about than 10% of everyone viewing the board has performed the arduous task of logging in  I think we can all see the issue , right ?
Let's do this , pick a day a week and log in that one day at least , trust me , we aren't watching you thru some secret camera when you are logged in , we don't care if you are sitting around in your underwear drinking coffee , or beer , or wearing a fluffy pink robe with matching bunny slippers
In other words , log in at least once a week . Remind your forum buddies to do so . It is really easy .

If you do not “log out” and are regularly participating on the board is if still necessary to do the log in procedure?

So easy even a retired PO-lice man can do it!

Why log out? I always check the box for "stay logged in forever."

I don't log in, Windows 10 does it automatically every time I visit the site.
As you 'Muricans say, no brainer.

As above. If you let your computer remember passwords it will happen automatically for you 99.9% of the time. It's only some web sites that give you a certain number of logins that you have to be aware of your status and if you end up as a guest you cannot see pictures or post, so you would soon know.
