How are you doing in Texas with the heavy rain and flooding?
Check in please

So far, so good here in NW Houston.
More rain in the forecast. Not even close to Harvey, though.

I just got home from 8 hours of driving in the rain (truck), and found out it didn't rain any here today

There's Texas and there's Texas. 70 miles NW of Austin, we could use more rain. Our Lake Buchanan is down at least 4' due to long term drought conditions and any rain is welcome. OTOH, from I-35 east, the rain is a lot heavier and indeed may be hazardous to residents and motorists. In Burnet County, we never saw enough precip to worry about it. A non-starter in the Hill Country.

Just the right amount of rain here in East Texas even though it has rained every day for a week. I don't know when it will be dry enough to mow. Thanks for asking .

Lake Charles got 12.5 inches last Monday which resulted in major flooding in many
parts of the city. Between Hurricane Laura (category 4) which was a real disaster, and
Hurricane Delta (category 2) hitting us 6 weeks latter, the damage is truly unbelievable.
Add in an ice storm and the flooding, the weather has been truly a disaster. The good news
is I now have a complete roof and the renovation should be complete in another couple of
months, no thanks to my insurance company. It has been a fight, but people of this area are
resilient.

That may be true on your side of the county, but our house flooded SW of Wills Point. And mowing is out of the question. The grass in the front yard is taller than my knees. I would bale it along with the hay, but who knows when we'll be able to get a tractor into the field.

Good soaking rains just north of Austin. Moderate rains south Austin, but no problems unless you are driving NASCAR on slicks.

Impressive couple of laps by that kid Cindric.
Once this rain clears out I hear they turn on the heat lamps for a few months. We got here in December so this will be our first Austin summer. Fun fun...
