We have a ranch nearby where some of the Budweiser team are kept, bred and raised. (I'm 180 miles from StL) Beautiful intelligent animals. :boozing: When you say Bud, you've said it ALL!
-
Do you know why the horses are gentle and intelligent ?

Hi Dusty, 5-26-21
OK. I'll bite. Horses are gentle and intelligent because....When it comes to bad behavior, they just say neigh.
Sorry, please don't kick me off the site for that.
Be well, stay well,

People still drink Budweiser? I figured when they were sold to InBev, a Belgian-Brazilian beer conglomerate, the blue collar workers would have moved on to another American Brand.

True , but there is an underlying reason they just say neigh .

After living and working in Aachen, Germany for 2 years, I cannot, and will not, drink any domestic beers.

However, when you can buy a case of suds for under $20...there are many, many, MANY people that will drink beers like Budweiser...

Don't forget about the 'Pony' rides going on!!

They're gelded. Sometimes a 2x4 upside the head helps if they get too raucous and hard to work with. :boozing:

Around here we have a lot of Hispanics and if you walk into a bar there is a better then 99% chance if they are drinking a beer its a Budweiser.
We also have a lot of Amish to the point the local WalMart has a hitching post for the horse and buggies.

+1 on the horse & buggy parking.

A cowboy told me once that mules are smarter and more sure footed than horses, but horses are better because they have a higher threshold of pain for abuse; and dumbness is a positive attribute for the horse. He said a too-smart horse is just a pain in the ass.
-
Same sentiments here for both equine. Hence my sarcastic remarks. Next to a mule, a second choice would be a Morgan.

Wife drove carriages in the Old Salem Resort in Winston Salem NC for many years. Percherons and Clydesdale’s were the horses that were used. They are truly gentle giants with tremendous amounts of patience and power which has been bread into these animals for centuries.
This painting was made by some famous painter around 25 years ago. We saw the painting a few years back in the GOOD AND PLENTY restaurant in Bird In Hand Pa.

Going in a totally different direction. As someone who worked as a merchandiser for Pepsi for a couple of years in college, my hat is off to the merchandising team who put that display together! May they win a well deserved award. X2 bc they did it at a Wal-Mart, which treats their vendors like serfs. I still try not to spend money at Walmart and it’s been years!

I'd pay $19.98 for that horse statue at the drop of a hat. Hard to believe it sell didn't within a couple minutes.

They are gentle and intelligent because, they don't get abused by people!!!!
They're smart enough not to try to moderate any Internet forums!!!! Bears on the other hand, seem to like to get poked!!! Obviously an animal that is less intelligent than a horse!
But if you ask a Clydesdale "What the best oil?" They rapidly lose their equanimity (equine-animity?)!!!

OK old farts, I'm sure you know the answer to this:
What is horse sense?

I’ve been making food for them all day.
Did y’all realize that HAY is the first ingredient in horse $#|+🤔 😂😂😂👍🥵🥵

OK. How bout they're not really gentle and intelligent, but because they don't post on the internet, people assume they are gentle and kind rather than mean and dumb?
-
They keep then soused?
John Henry
Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner!
Cause they got 24/7 access to all the beer they can drink!
Good one Dusty!!!
-
Sir real Ed,
Actually they are gentle and intelligent. They also posses common sense and have a natural curiosity. But I was thinking Dusty was looking for something more humorous.
John Henry
I agree. But take away the free beer 24/7...... A hangover doesn't help anyone's personality!

I’m not a Walmart fan either, I worked for a freight company and had to deliver there 2-3 times a week, they treated me like a second class citizen, all I wanted to do is deliver there freight and be on my way but they always made it into an issue . I won’t spend a penny there , plus bud gives me a headache!!!

OK old farts, I'm sure you know the answer to this:
What is horse sense?
Sense enough to not drink budweiser , which is what makes then sweet and gentle .

That's it? Not cause they're all on the same team? Not cause they all pull together? Not cause they have equine-in-me?

The reason they have the horses is so there is something to put in the bottles.

True story about those Clydesdales @ the brewery in St. Louie:
I learned of the Guzzi brand/bought my first red/white Eldo when I moved to St. Louis in '89. It was languishing in the basement of the house I was renting. But I had a habit when I was younger of exploring my new work location by bicycle, so I headed out one Sunday from U-City to downtown on my bike, and wandered to the A-B brewery. It was dead quiet with nobody on the streets (probably a bazillion degrees with humidity), and I couldn't believe it but I was poking my way carefully thru gates and doorways and found myself at the stables for the Clydesdales. I have a memory of coming up to the stables and seeing several with their butts to me munching away, and I'll never forget one empty stable that was so clean and comfortable-looking, ventilated air moving, straw for bedding that made ME want to curl up and sleep. Those horses looked like they were pampered like royalty, and I was very impressed with that, plus their SIZE and impeccable grooming.
I snuck back out of there fully expecting to be arrested, but it was a clean getaway!

Horses are naturally curious. I tested livestock scales as part of my duties as a weights and measures official. I have had occasions where I was surprised by a horse standing behind me in a scale house watching what I was doing. Beef cattle would come over and watch too, one of my favorite breeds of animals.
