Unique bike in many ways. :thumb:
I've owned my 350 Sprint 40+ yrs.
-
I have wanted one for 40 years.
-
I remember the Harley squint.

Years ago, I talked to an elderly woman whose husband had a Harley dealership, to move bike off the floor they would GIVE you a Sprint if you purchased an Electra Glide!

Not really. Harley in name only. It would be like Piaggio putting their name on Guzzis.

Agreed the Aermacchi singles were made in Italy but HD did own controlling interest in the motorcycle division of Aermacchi since (I think?) 1961 and complete ownership (under AMF) in 72 until the sale to Cagiva in 75 (or was it 76?) and HD basically called the shots for design and model range from the first model introduced as HD, the Wisconsin, a slightly modified Ala Azzura.
HD catalogued and marketed the Aermacchi’s as their own which is different from how HD handled Buel and Aermacchi handed HD their only world race title with Walter Villa on the water cooled two stroke twin which HD was glad to take credit for.

 Uh, yeah. :thumb: Just the same, the first "real" motorcycle I ever rode was a Sprint, and I still have a soft spot for them. They probably caused my life long love of Italian motorcycles.

A friend, who was and is seriously into singles, had one as her second bike . It was a terrific amount of fun! Though we weren't quite sure what to call it. 'Hog' seemed a bit much. Perhaps it was a piglet.

Piglet!
I love it, that’s a perfect nickname for an Aermacchi! :thumb:
My PIGLET Project so far,

just in the gathering parts stage, this is basically a 66 H model, I will be using a 61 Aermacchi complete front end with a 17" wheel and same for the back, found an Ala Verde gas tank that is in the mail and the correct CEV headlight bucket and speedo and a seat base.
This is what I am aiming to replicate
