Yep, coming back from the NH Nat'l yesterday (via ME and Gloucester, MA) I came upon a Harley rider with ape-hangers (I actually like the looks of those) in the center lane of 84 in CT going 70 mph, looking DOWN at his phone in his lap, texting with both hands. Must've had cruise control. Granted, he was clear of traffic on both sides and in front for a good distance so maybe THAT'S why he felt safe to do so (except for me who passed him @ 4-5 mph relative speed in disbelief). I felt like honking my horn just to gesture from a fellow rider as to what a stupid thing he was doing, but figured I might make him crash and take both of us out.
My sister said she's seen foolish young men like this in nursing homes with their minds intact but paralyzed from the eyelids down of their own doing. I can't imagine a seasoned rider even thinking of doing this.

Another case of a new law meant to make us safer actually makes lawbreakers even more dangerous. Before the hands free laws passed, people would at least hold the phone up in their line of sight while texting, or dialing, and using their map. Now they try and hide it and are looking down. Distracted drivers / riders really irritate me. :thewife:

Geez, that guy in the vid was even lounging and doing it in traffic, at least my guy was sitting upright with no traffic. I sure as hell wouldn't be laughing at the spectacle like the guys taking the vid, I would be PISSED, like I was yesterday. COMPLETE dis-respect for the safety of others.
