Take a 42 year old memory, add an 870lb eighties touring bike, a rider old enough to be somebodies grandfather, mix in over a hundred miles of logging and forest access road and what have you got? The Road to Missinaibi River Park. Decades ago I had worked in the area and remember the road in to the park as being a little rough. Had it changed in forty-two years? I was eager to find out. And while it may seem that a sensible fellow would choose a modern, lighweight ADV bike for such a ride (or better yet, an old Guzzi), the Cavalcade was raring to go on an adventure, and who was I to argue?

Gotta say from experience that I do not like a big bike on gravel roads. Watching you on that monster in the deeper dirt made me pucker a few times. How could you sleep in a flimsy tent after seeing bears???? Great job.

If I'm up that way, I'll leave the big California at home.

Hi, thanks, yes they are. Also through Audible.
Don't confuse me with another author of the same name. We're polar opposites :boozing:

Here's a little more behemoth madness - 7 minutes of SLOW TV with some wonky live commentary.
