4 B doubles

Surprised to see the tractor is a cab over. Mostly gone in the US now - Driver's stand no chance in an accident...

I did a 4X4 'outback' tour a few years ago. We routinely saw triple trailers out on dirt highways. Quite an impact. Saw one at parked at lunch and counted 68 tires. This video has even more.

When you vehicle is limited by length cab over gives you a few extra pallets, crash protection has come a long way int he last 20 or so years mainly as cab over is the default configuration in Europe. normally the quad as something like an one A and three B trailers, although it really depends on the mass they are pulling.

I think you will find its all to do with lenght vs axle weight than anything to do with crash safety

Mack B was a man's truck, slow ,hot and noisy.... I believe the change in US truck length laws got rid of CO's.

I believe the change in US truck length laws got rid of CO's.
In the mid-90s, the US laws changed from a maximum tractor-trailer length to a minimum first-to-last axle length, thereby making cab-overs obsolete.

Should mention that the tractor units are not the standard ones in the US or europe, If you see a name brand it will be locally assembled with a mish mash of imported and locally made parts, KW Mack, Frieghtliner, Volvo, I think Scania nto sure about MAN or Merc. There is not a lot of demand for tripple rated chassi's elsewhere in the world.
