Has anyone ever used one of these Hannigan fairings?
Is the BMW mount easily adaptable to a Tonti frame?
(aside from lowers. of course)

I believe TOMB will remember owning a V7 Sport with a Hannigan…
Paging mr bailey..
I got to ride it…it made you pay attention.!!!
A heavier period piece that really did the job.
Beemer to Guzzi? ….no idea

A buddy put one on a K-bike after he wrecked it and before he got rid of it due to transmi$$ion failure after the AB$ failure$.
Then he bought a K1200 German 'busa.

I still have a Rabid Transit fairing in my basement. Ozarque, if you want one, send me a PM.

I always thought this vintage Rapid Transit fairings were some of the best looking on the market at the time :thumb:

That is a Hannigan vice a Rabid Transit.
Back in the early 90's I mounted a Hannigan ST on my 89 Mille' GT. I remember chopping up and modding some windjammer mounts to make it work. Later i sold t he fairing and mounts to another VA Guzzi person who still has it to this day.

OK - Got it! Hannigan vs. Rabid Transit...so these are the differences? Both look very functional and cool! :thumb:

Originally Hannigan Fairings were made in Paris.
Is it officially Rabid or Rapid Transit?
-
Rapid Transit was probably patented or copy righted by Mopar.

Maybe not originally in Paris, Arkansas I guess, but that is where they were last before closing. I do not know what the deal is on new Hannigan Motorsports in KY, but it is not the old fairing company (Heil-Hannigan?).
The old fairing company in Arkansas, if you called them, the owner answered the phone.

Edit to add picture of my1973 V7 Sport
(https://i.ibb.co/6Pwfx3W/V7-Sport.jpg) (https://ibb.co/6Pwfx3W)
Continuing from my post above the Rabbit Transit faring that I had on my V7 sport was attached by the following methods my sport had the crash bars that came out the T3 triangular-shaped (and are in the V7 Sport parts book bolted right to the framed etcetera the fairing mount was for a Vetter fairing for a T3 the hence the crash bars and the Fairing bolted right on wiring harness simple in my case with a V7 sport I had to make some adjustments for the gooseneck handlebars because of the cutouts interfering the fairing windshield that I had was from a BMW from San Jose BMW it had probably 2 in the 3-inch lift on the top I could say this fairing was beyond efficient if you are riding in the Rain the only thing that would get wet with the tips of your
I'll attach a picture of these V7 sport with the rapid transit fairing it's in my computer someplace so give me a few few hours and I'll post it
As a side note a BMW Rider who had I believe had a r75 / 6 that the Hannigan fairing on his bike and he indicated he wish that he put the rapid transit fairing on because it was a smaller frontal area offered more protection and was less likely to get buffeting from trucks in crosswinds.

continued from above
I still have the installation instructions if needed

TOMB,
very intelresting. Thanks for digging it out. Looks like something that was cutting edge high tech from the 60s.
Hopefully I may be in need of mounting instructions soon even though it seems relatively straightforward for a Tonti. The lowers look much larger than other Rabid Rabbits pictures I have seen.
-
@ozarquebus
The lower fairings are the ones that came with that bearing they screw on with 5 screws on each side they clear the crash bars picture of probably given you a false illusion of the size of them they're not that big if you took them off the fairing lower edge would look very similar to a Ducati 900ss Fairing and the lower part of the fairing will be even with the bottom of the tank

We did have the Hannigan listed for a little bit as available for Tonti framed bikes. But the owner of Hannigan packed it in a while back. They do work well but I don't believe I have any mounting brackets left.

What a wonderful forum! I voiced a little interest in an old fairing and PRESTO! Two days later WildGuzzi's own JRT personally delivers a Vesco Rabid Transit to me as he drove to Texas with part of his wonderful family.
Its got Guzzi brackets and lowers with it.
It is in good shape and the material seems to be unpainted abs type material and the color is in the material, so it could be buffed and polished as-is to an acceptable shine and it almost the same color as my old G5 recipient is painted.
The mounts seem ready to bolt up, but may require an SPII, Mille Gt, or T5 swept back type front crash bar to fit? The crash bar is integral to mounting the frame since it uses it as a brace. The lowers appear to cover part of the jug, but form an airduct when in place and as TOMB said, they are not so large. It also came with an accurate but crude copy of the drawing of the mounting bracket.
The mirrors are missing, but that should not be too big of a hurdle to replace, when the time comes. One picture shows the mount. What was on there originally? Anybody holding a pair?
Many many thanks to forum member Jason JRT. He said he acquired it from Carl Allison many years ago.
Oh, and a cassette tape deck which included a home recorded mixtape of 1993 SFO Bay Radio stations.
