The numbers seem odd to me. The Guzzi is 7 years old with three owners and only 4400 miles. Why didn't any of the owners want to ride the bike, at least a little?

It is not uncommon to find Wranglers and Miatas for sale that get a new owner every year or two.

With motorcycles, many like the idea, or rode one while in college, so they buy a bike, get scared, or have more money than time. When you talk with dealers they will say they have a number of customers who trade bikes every year.  People looking for that nirvana bike that doesn't exist.

 It sure is pretty.
How would one determine if it was a ticking time bomb without buying it?

When I buy a used bike that the owner doesn't know much about, or has had several owners, and there are not service records, I will do a thorough inspection, test ride, and ask very pointed questions that force the seller to lie if they don't want to reveal something.  If I want the bike, but have some reservations, my offer will reflect that.
