Nice! Powerband between 12-14000 rpms…missed a few shifts and it spins out to 18000 before he gets a gear! I like the gimbal mount camera, makes a great view when you level the ground by rotating the camera..feels like your there

Put everyone behind him!

I grabbed a race prepped 1999 Derbi GPR50..max jetted carb, pipe, stripped electrics

Powerband is 9-11k…unridable in the city. 50cc going 60mph plus

Moped plate

I’m going to need to do this somewhere safely

In most of the world at the time 50CC and 125CC GP racing was a thing, being a champion in those classes made you a hero of the first order . Angel Nieto and Jorge Martinez were national heroes

At some point the 50cc class became an 80cc class, and I remember from my visit the the Dutch TT in 1989 that the 80cc class was the best racing of any class.  Lots of bikes, very competitive and surprisingly fast.

Great video.

Some of the most fun I ever had racing was  racing in the 50cc class on a Yamaha YSR50

OH I so miss my Aprilia SR50.  But that cryo-fabricated crankshaft was soooo expensive!

I had a Yamaha 80 for a couple of years back in the mid 60's. I did a bit of hop up work on it. It would scare my buddy on his 305 Honda Dream. It was fun for awhile but the bottom end couldn't take it any longer. I put it back to stock.  I put 17k on that bike.

I've aged out of all my bikes except the RS125 - an '09. 275#'s wet. It has always been a hoot. Added 3 teeth to the rear sprocket years back; Some roads you just can't carry enough speed w/out going to jail.  R3`
