Wow, that is really bent. It's a gamble. I bought a bike with a bent frame, turned out it also had bent rims, bent swingarm, bent forks, bent triples and a few broken parts like foot pegs and damaged mufflers. I found replacement parts for everything, so getting there with straight stuff, but I still need to deal with the frame at some point some day. A spare Scura for someone?

V11 sports don't crash well. The engine may be broken too..

Yeah, the last pic looks like timing cover for sure, only 6K miles, totally underutilized, sad.

Ouch...that's painful to look at.  I'm guessing that one needs to be removed from the active list on V11Lemans.  Pity he won't part it out, there's a few goodies there that would be nice to have as spares.

I wonder if the engine does run...maybe he would have stated if it did, so probably safe to say it doesn't?

Hard to see a Scura die a painful death like that.

when the engine is a 'stressed member' of the frame and the frame takes a whallop like that...  how much stress do you think there was on the engine

Couple of questions, how many scuras were built (approximately) also what are the differences from a V11 sport?  Obviously some trim things, mufflers and I believe the big thing was the suspension.  Was there any difference in the engine?
Thx dave

Ohlins all around, plus some carbon body pieces like front fender. I think the engine is the same, but I believe they came with a 'race' ecu and Ti exhaust?

Approximately 600+ (maybe 660??) were made worldwide.  There's a tracker on V11Lemans that is maintained reasonably well of where many of them are.  One more bites the dust however.

Different fairing or lack there of compared to the other V11's (Naked, Sport, Greenies, LeMans, Rosso Mandello, Coppa Italia, some with Burgundy tanks) are some of the variants of the V11...many of them still in pristine condition too!

Ohlins as mentioned front and back.  I don't really know if the other V11's engine was tuned differently...Chuck and Scud who have encyclopedic knowledge of the Scura will probably know if there are differences compared to the other V11 variants.   Scuras benefitted from a unique engine paint peeling feature that makes it look somewhat volcanic in nature on the engine surface.  One thing I know, they all look fantastic and ride incredibly well.

Helluva a bike to ride...really enjoyable.  Just took mine for state inspection today, brings a smile every time I ride it!

Ouch! Very true that V 11 sports dont "crash well". This one took some pretty hard hits, The transmission case may even be cracked as well.
Rick.

As far as I know, the engine has the same tune. Besides the "feature" of the flaking engine paint.. although some didn't.. they also had the single plate clutch. The Ohlins were sprung for a 130 lb. Italian, too. Fix that stuff, and you will have the best Guzzi ever..  It's my favorite bike of all time.

Likely some really good parts there, some FUBAR, but for the price what the hell?  DonG

Honestly, I wouldn't give *much* for it. It is very likely the crankcase is broken, too. The forks "may" be bent. The tough to find carbon fiber front fender may be broken.  I wouldn't bet the transmission mount isn't cracked. The unobtainium CF chin pad is probably good, but I wouldn't bet on the tank.. and the instrument cluster looks to be ok. The rear shock is probably ok as is most of the back end of the bike.
It's a very big crap shoot, IMHO.
2K?? Maybe, but. <snapping suspenders> Not me.

If anyone does buy it, I have a titled frame from a 99 (i think) V11 Sport that had a cheap filter blow off and burnt the motor.

I contacted the seller and he had a deposit on it as of yesterday.  I told him to let me know if the deal fell through……. Not sure if I’m excited if he contacts me or not. Lol
Thx for the info guys, I’ve got a bit of messed up v11 so it would probably work well for me

All of what Chuck said...

Plus the Scura did not come with the race ECU or the Titanium pipes. The stock pipes were simply wrapped in a carbon fiber sleeve instead of a metal sleeve.

The only performance enhancement was the lightweight aluminum flywheel and single plate clutch. Sadly, they were prone to failure. But I replaced mine with an improved single plate clutch and I really like it.

Of all the V11s, the Scura is a labor of love. After you deal with the springs, flywheel, and engine paint, you have yourself the machine they should have built.
