Title: Paint Updated 9/18
Post by: bmc5733946 on August 10, 2021, 07:08:12 AM
I know that many of us have searched for paint to match our Moto Guzzis. A possible source was shared with me by Luca at Agostini's.

www.rsbikepaint.com

They are in the UK. I have ordered paint to match my black Mille GT, Nero Lotus. The paint they supply is by Lechler, the only company I found with a formula to match this color. The paint was a little expensive but not too bad, 2 pts base coat, 2pts thinner, and 2pts of 2pk clear came to $200 with or so including shipping not bad really. Arrived in four days via UPS. I will post again after my painter sprays some and checks the color match.

THIS^^^
Try plugging in different production years to get the right color.
EG: They list Turkey Blue Metallic (catchy name) for Sport 1100  under Production Year 1997. Not sure if mine was made in 95 or 96 but it wasn't 97...
FWIW, they only have Legnano Green for the V7 Sport in all years of production.

Thanks for hunting that down! Now I can paint the fairing on my black Mille.

 They even have the "Rosso Madeira" (Madeira Red) used on the 1881 G5, though found it under the 1981 T4, I contacted them to let them know, maybe they'll add it to the G5 1981 option.

It's this color:

For those who wondered about the paint match, I will let you judge for yourselves. I think it's a winner! Several photos, this is the cleanest this bike has ever been since I bought it in 1994.

SPII fairing, original Mille GT head light mounts with 8 inch Bosch headlight from later model California, 35mm two piece clamps for steering damper mounting on forks to mount with original SPII mounts and spacers to set fairing about 1 inch forward for clearance at instrument cluster etc. I tried with the SPII headlight ears etc but to much interference from other stuff. I have wanted to do this project since 1994, finally done!

No problem getting that into the US?

I recently also had a good result with a body shop scanning an old Kawasaki color.

No problem at all, faster shipping than here, had it in 4 days. Shipped DHL same as my last few orders from Agostini's. Others from Europe, UPS, postal services are much slower think weeksfor planning purposes!
