Title: $80 Motorcycle Dellorto PHBH 30BS knockoffs on Ebay
Post by: moto on September 22, 2021, 02:16:28 PM
Here is an unbranded version of the PHBH 30BS carburetor, suitable, perhaps, for converting from the VHB 30 C's on your T3, etc. Only $80, or $74.40 each if you buy two! It appears to have jets of some sort! Free shipping, from you-know-where.

By comparison, Stein-Dinse offer a complete VHB conversion kit based on two Dellorto-branded PHBH 30BS carburetors, with fixin's, for 239 Euros, plus shipping. This has been discussed here recently. I wouldn't be surprised if the two versions differ only in the presence of the Dellorto stamp.

Feeling lucky?

Yep, you get what you pay for, I don't think I would be spending my $$$ on these.

Maybe the Chinese floats are actually better?

Or the white floats are actually made in China?

We played the fix-a-jet game with one of those china $23 new fake mikuni carbs.  After A long session in the machine shop to carefully remove the junk jet and install a real mikuni jet, it's a good carb for a bike that isn't ridden.   I wouldn't expect a china fake Dellorto to be any better.

Something about the cheap man pays twice.

All this illustrates why I refuse to install any safety-critical parts made in Mainland China on any vehicle I own.

I remember trying to install Chinese brake drums on a Ford.  They were out-of-round when I removed them from the box they were sold in.

Me, I'm keeping my VHB's. Nearly immortal, as far as I can tell. I've had my own surprises with jets lately.

I'm running $30 PWK 34mm's on my 850T and they work great. I'm not sure why people equate being overcharged with quality.

I bought these (currently out of stock)-

Two left here-

Either use the rubber manifold boot that comes with it (you'll have to enlarge the engine side) or buy two of these-
