Title: How thin - Brake pads ?

These appear to be wearing very evenly.

Post by: mtiberio on September 27, 2021, 04:03:04 PM: My philosophy is to replace them when half worn. The thinner you take them, the more the pistons have to stick out of the calipers. This exposes them to road salt, etc. I'd rather pop in a new set of pads than rebuild a caliper.

The tires were at 20R/25F. The front wheel bearings had a nice growl going on.

He brought it in for a new rear tire. There was a six inch section of cord showing.

On an emergency stop from road speed you’ll want half worn or better. Unless you don’t practice those..
