Title: Average Age
Post by: stubbie on October 03, 2021, 07:57:24 PM
Just stepping back to the topic of average age of Moto Guzzi riders. A local insurance company here has just put out some stats on their policy holders. It appears the average age of motorcycle riders is 54 years of age. One third of their policy holders are aged between 50-59 and 83% of policy holders are men. So it would seem that old age isn't only associated with riding a Moto Guzzi as this covers all motorcycles.

Youngsters,,,poseurs, the lot of you.  I'll be 85 in 9 weeks.  Rode my '21 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 70 miles yesterday; 143 today on the '17 Honda CB-500f and saving the piece d' resistance for last, tomorrow I'll revel in a lovely fall day and some miles on my heartthrob,  the ex-John Hemenway 2004 Breva 750.

Use it or lose it.   I'm not getting any younger, but OTOH....You don't stop riding motorcycles because you got old...You got old because you stopped riding motorcycles.
Words to live by.

Presuming the insurance agency is only looking at their own customers the results could be (very) skewed. My local Allstate agent said that their customers tend to be older as do State Farm's. Wonder if the results would be different from the more eCommerce focused providers?

As with vehicles I think mileage should be a factor too . Tough to compare a  70 Yr. old white collar worker to a farmer of the same vintage . Service history should also factor in .

Roy:  I hope I'm still riding when you're 85.  I'd be 95 then and would be looking forward to your much-appreciated explanations of Guzzi electrical problems.
