It makes machining something on my Cincinnati Milacron even more rewarding.

Great video, I'm surprised that it wasn't made by someone here! :laugh:

I suppose if I needed spoke wheel weights and had all that equipment I might do the same thing but for now, if I need spoke wheel weights I'll grab my roll of solder and start wrapping spokes until I get the desired balance.

Generally I’ve found if you static balance the front wheel in any reasonable way, it’s close enough to work fine up to over 100 mph.  The rear wheel balance by comparison is not particularly critical - to the extent that GP racers up until the 80s or so didn’t bother balancing the rear wheel.

Like a lot of things being sold over the last few decades, balancing wheels may be a good thing but the commercial aspect has taken on a life of its own and few know what is actually important, or maybe less so, anymore.

You can buy stick-on wheel weights from most parts stores.
