On something like a Dellorto VHB CD/CS with fixed/non-removable seat, I might try that. But on anything else with an easily replaceable seat, I'd just buy new along with the float needle.

Thank you Charlie, I agree with you 100%. I updated my og post with your link. Not sure why that happened. I tried this technique on a leaking pressure washer carb the other day, and it worked for me! Of course, I had already bought a replacement carb, thats being shipped. Oh well, I will have a spare.

I have a lawnmower carb (19 hp Kaw) with an integral seat that just loves to fill up the crankcase if you forget to turn the fuel off. I'll give the ball trick a try. Yes, you can buy a Chinese knock off for cheap, but the Kawasaki OEM is eye watteringly expensive.
