Title: It was a difficult decision!

I decided that a motorcycle with pegs does not need a heel/toe shifter. So, I whacked the heel part off my Stone!
This decision was a long time in making and not done on a whim.
I got tired of not having a comfortable place to put my entire foot without pushing down on the heel shifter section.
If anyone needs half of a heel toe shifter let me know and I’ll ship it to you. You pay the postage😂😂😂

I need to do the same on my Cal Spec. With pegs it is an absolute PITA having that heel shift section. What I need to do is buy a used one to cut in case I ever need to go back.

It took me over a year to decide to do the procedure.
After having the last several bikes I’ve owned having floorboards, it’s obvious that pegs and heel/toe shifters don’t mix.
No 👀 back for me👍

Really I am shocked there wasn't a properly designed toe shifter available from the factory for bikes with pegs.

There may be AJ but with MG there’s no telling.
I got the idea to cut the heel shifter off from some of the guys here that’s did it also.
It’s like most issues with any motorcycle an owner/rider can get use to small oddities.
However I just couldn’t get past the heel part being directly in the way where ones heel should be with pegs. Soooo off with it:)

I thought the same thing on my Ambo with pegs, BUT after I cut mine off I realized I really needed it on the loopy 4-spd! Good thing I had two!

Yea, that’s the reason that it took me a year to make the decision. I do like the option of the heel shifter but it was not worth the aggravation of messing with my foot position. I also removed the heel section of my other bikes in the past with floorboards for the same reason. It simply limits the area where ones foot position can be utilized.
Bottom line, for me, just not worth having, especially on pegs.

20 years of using the shifter on the Stone, never had an urge to cut it in two.  Maybe it's my small size 12 boots. You guys probably have bigger feet.

The heel/toe shifters on Harleys are separate pieces. Just take the heel part off, add a spacer and you are good to go. I think Harley sold a spacer for $25, I knocked one out on the lathe in less than 10 minutes.

Someone take that hacksaw from him before, god forbid, another   café bike is created.

Lol, I started the job with a hack saw but not enough room to get a full stroke and to lazy to remove.
Therefore I graduated to a SAWS-ALL🤔
One minute later….gone gone gone😆

Good move if you have pegs, not so much if you have boards

I personally don’t even like the heel shifter on boards as the same issue exist, restricts foot location ability and for me shifting with my toe works fine, as I always wear boots.
