I was not a HUGE fan of theirs. I went to their show last night and it was fantastic! I didn't realize Buck Dharma was a total guitar god ! Catch the show if you can.

The remains/dreggs of Jefferson Starship were the opening act ( maybe 1 original member and it wasn't Grace Slick )... not good, like karaoke gone wrong .

Wow, I had no idea they were still a band. And Jefferson Starship, who the hell is left alive from the original band? Grace just turned 80 and Lindsey looks like a grandmother with a crazy hair doo.

Blue Oyster Cult was one of my very first concerts, back in the early 70s.
Poor Jefferson Starship, and whoever's left from the old lineup, if anyone. Starship itself was only as good as whoever could be salvaged from Jefferson Airplane. They played at a nearby small town's Street Fair a few months ago.

Lucky You! Both my youtube favorites.
Bring on the cowbell.....and mushrooms, for Jefferson Airplane 😎

Did the Cult play “OD’d on Life Itself”? One of their best. At least the title.
-
Did they say(announcer) "On your feet or on your knees" ? A lead-in to their 1st song. I saw them in concert in DeKalb, IL early seventies.

There was one old guy from starship they made a big deal about. They kept name dropping dead performers from the 60s. Gotta pay the Bill's I guess. There are not enough mushrooms in the state of AZ to make that performance enjoyable.
BOC played new and old... I wasnt a big fan before last night

I have a first cousin that was married to Joe Bouchard, BOC's original bassist, for many years. Got to stay with them several times. Too bad they broke up. At their height with the release of The Reaper they lived well in Connecticut, just down the street from Paul Newman. They recently played at an event in Hammondsport, NY. They're in again. A true cult band.

Two responses to BOC. First heard them in an outdoor setting in 75 or 76. Very good. Second time heard them in a 2,500 seat acoustically designed concert hall and the volume was more than deafening. Walked out after about 30 minutes due to ears not able to take it. Had some good songs however powerfully delivered.

I don' remember the exact year but itwas most likely the early to mid 80's. I was at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis before everything got crazy. We got in for $5 a night and camped in an open field in front of the stage. BOC was scheduled to play that saturday night. There were other bands that proceeded them. Things got carried away and they didn't start until about 2 am. They were still playing when the sun came up but I had passed out long before that. I rode a BMW in those days before it became a Harley thing.

I read somewhere that Eric Burden, of the Animals was in Jefferson Starship recently.

Yeah, saw them in '77, during the laser light show era. Great show! One reason ( of many ) that I wear earplugs now for any noisy area, including cutting the grass or riding the bike,. ( trying to save what's left of the hearing).
