Title: Guzzi weekend
Post by: SED on November 21, 2021, 11:32:33 PM
Rode the LeMans yesterday with a friend and his new (to him) R100.  The picture shows a rolling freight train and a bald eagle in addition to the old bikes.

Rode the GTV today with the video camera, but somehow it didn't work...
All I got was a phone snap:

But the memory card did have this video from August, so posted that instead.

Old bikes have lots of adjustments and not much power or suspension so riding them can seem frantic and still require patience.  Video seems to accentuate both the frantic and the tedious.  Maybe I should learn to include music...

Thanks I have never seen a video of one of these out on the road. Fantastic, I didn't realize how spritly these are. Nice sound too.

I prefer it without ‘music’. But I’m a curmudgeon. Good video ,thanks for posting it!

Glad you enjoyed it!

KK, the video makes it seem faster than it is, top speed is probably around 70mph - it's out of breath by 5000 rpm.  It's only rated at 18hp (at only 4300rpm) but it has the same torque as my Red Hunter (which ain't saying much!) so it does pretty well until the long straight or the 4th gear hill.

The haze in the video is from this summer's wildfire smoke.

Nice video! The GTV sounds great, riding it must be very rewarding given all the work you have put into it.

Yes, it's a lot of fun and gets a lot of attention.  Was over at a friend's house and a young guy driving by stopped to ask if he could take a picture of it!

It's also remarkably comfortable - that road is pretty rough in places.  If the paint wasn't so nice I'd put the leg shields on it and ride it in the sloppy weather too.  :afro:
