That does look like a nice unmolested example.  The price is probably high but if he wants to sell it, he’ll find that out.  I’d probably pay $6-7K for one like that, if I were in the market.

The exhaust crossover looks like one of the terrible quality items sold by Rex Marsee back in the day.  If so, that would have to come off.

Interesting that it’s in Taos, NM.  The Guzzi national rally in 1999 was there and I rode an identical 1100 Sport there and then back home, 1000 miles in a day on the return trip.  My longest day ever and I don’t think I’d repeat it in 2021

Nice machine, with extraordinary low mileage. These are surprisingly comfortable bikes, although it’s a long reach to the bars.

Another rare Moto Guzzi, (aren’t they all) with just a few hundred of the injected models imported to the US. Someday, these will rise in value.

     They are already.

Just a few years ago, I would see them and various V11s for $3-4K Canadian quite often, now they're up in the 7-10K range, depending on the model and the farkling.

Although I have noticed a trend; that the older vintage bikes, seemed to get snapped up very quickly and the more modern bikes seem to languish for sale for quite a while.

Is that not a full Staintune exhaust? Not sure on the crossover, but the cans at least...  Wonder if it got a Creedon chip? Seems like that would be mentioned if so.

It’s a stock exhaust (header pipes and mufflers) with replacement crossover.  If it’s a Marsee crossover as I’m guessing and given the low mileage, I’d guess it has the Marsee chip that came with it in 1998.  That one is an unauthorized copy of the MI chip, which regardless of genesis is not much better than stock, meaning terrible.

All fairly easy to put right, if and as required.

I guess it’s all relative. I think my comment, “rise in value”, was in comparison to say, the original Le Mans or the 1000S.

IMHO, these should be over 5 figures, not just for their rarity, but that they are one of the last true Moto Guzzi, analog sporting machines.

This seems like a good bike for BAT.

That looks really nice, and even has all the OG stickers on it! The epitome of an Italian sport bike.

The '96 carb 1100 Sport on BAT is much more desirable! No reserve.

Unlikely to sell for as much as the CL injected asking price.

Wonder if this belongs to anyone here. Certainly makes a nice sound, and seems to have the carbs sorted pretty well.

BAT may deliver here-- 6k bid on the first day.
A full Termignoni exhaust on these is more righteous than this!
End of an era.

My first Spot 1100 was a 96. Bought it from the original owner, a Fort Lee NJ Detective. He included a “custom” stand that he made from plumbing pipes. Pretty ingenious, and worked like the one that the BaT bike has. I sold the 96 bike, and two years later bought it back on Ebay. The only motorcycle that I bought twice.

I'm surprised the value of the Sport 1100 hasn't gone up much.  I guess they don't carry the mystique as Ducati's do.  They are rare and great looking bikes....and amazing to ride!

I would value that CL 97 Sport, if it had a complete Termignoi system installed right at $10k

Right on, my friend! I have a complete Termignoni system on my 95, a complete Staintune Carbon on the yellow 97, and a Mistral Carbon on the red 97. I also have a spare Termignoni, a new never installed complete spare Stainless Steel Staintune, and a spare Mistral exhaust system in storage. To me, all three of the exhaust systems installed on those bikes sound and look great.

And since I have a dog in this race......

About that 97 for sale on CL, I think that the bike is worth the asking price. I have sold six of the fifteen Sport's I had sitting in the barn last year, and they all sold between $7k-$9k. The days of finding a pristine low miles Sport for $6k have passed about five years ago. I also think that if anyone finds a nice Sport around the $5k - $6k asking price, and the bike is in good condition then you better buy it. I also think that people who are buying the 1100 Sport's today will keep them long term, so they will become harder and harder to find.

For comparison with the bikes above...... I was going to sell my blue 96 to a local gentleman who contacted me about 14 month ago after seeing pictures of my bikes online. He came out to look at it, and I told him that I would let it go for $5k. I bought this bike about five or six years ago, and I rode it maybe fifty miles since then. The bike's engine wouldn't start, since the battery was dead, plus it probably needed to get the carbs cleaned from sitting for so long before riding it again. I told the potential buyer that I will get the bike serviced when I had some free time, which never came. The potential buyer eventually stopped calling as time passed by, and I am so glad that I didn't sell this bike to him for $5k. My asking price now would be at $6.5k, but only because this bike has 20k miles on the clock, and it was used as intended, so it has some smaller scratches and age blemishes all over.

Some here will probably think that I'm crazy, and I'm OK with that; and not that I would, but the three bikes above would be listed at $9k for the silver 95, $10K to $11k for the red 97, and $12k plus for the yellow 97, if I were to sell them, which I'm not. These three bikes will stay with me until I move on into the next life! :)  However, I would almost guarantee that someone would buy them for my asking price. I know that, since there are more people like me out there who value quality and perfection, and people like me are willing to pay extra in order to get something that we really want.

Sale pending at $8.2k

I think that this is a good selling price for the current owner, and an even better purchase price for the buyer!

The BaT Sport auction ends today. Currently at $7,250.
Interesting that BaT has decided to list so many Guzzis lately.

It looks as if BaT is intentionally sequentially listing certain bikes to pump up interest and values.  Airheads, monkey bikes, now Guzzis.  Less so Nortons and Triumphs now.  Kind of a chicken-egg dynamic.

The BaT Spot sold for $8500+ 5% buyer prem.

Kinda bittersweet, as these inch their way up, in value.

The bittersweet part, is that I won’t be able to pick another one up for small money.

Agreed. These were the most (sporty) Guzzi for the least money for years!
