Title: V85TT tires
Post by: dxhall on December 26, 2021, 07:59:46 PM
I finally received the parts for the new tubeless spoked wheels on my V85TT.  So it’s time for tires.  Has anyone tried Dunlop Trailmax Missions?  Tread looks pretty aggressive.

The OEM Anakee tires still have lots of life and are going a nice job on mixed roads. If I decide to go with a more dirt oriented tire I'd jump to a big block street radial knobby like these Shinkos. A friend has them on his GS saying they're good on the road and work well in sand and mud: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shinko-804-805-big-block-adventure-touring-tires?sku_id=1779941 (https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shinko-804-805-big-block-adventure-touring-tires?sku_id=1779941)

My pal and I rode our identical V 85's through CO, WY, MT/ID/ & UT back into CO this past June.  I ride Shinko 705's and he had the Dunlop Missions.  The Missions are more offload aggressive than the Shinko.  He liked the tire.  I rode his bike on pavement and it was quiet like the  Shinko's/no hum.   The tire is probably marginally better offload.  It is a heavy tire.  Set of the Missions cost twice as much as the Shinko 705's.
