That is the average retail value according to NADAguides.  Usually when buying from an individual I shoot for the low retail value unless they are the original owner and have meticulous records that all maintenance is up to date.

I wish the MC painter I have used over the years didn't retire.  A repaint on the tank and plastic and that would be an awesome bike!

There's no way that NADA can have an accurate clue on true Griso values. Their numbers are based on transactional data. That's easy to establish on automobiles...a bit harder on motorcycles...and essentially impossible for Moto Guzzi. The numbers they publish on something as thin-on-the-ground as a 2007 Griso is purely an educated guesstimate.

Want to know how I know? Because on various occasions they've asked me to review their data!

What is the insurance company going to give you?  I guess at $3k only need liability I suppose.

So, what you are saying is the value of a bike that was not very popular and only got a mention in shootouts is really lower in value than posted?  I guess one could research the value of the other bikes in the shootout and do a comparison.

What "posted value" is really all about:  NADA calls their publications "Guides" for good reason...it's an inexact science.

Correct: a not-very-popular-bike ends up not-having-very-much-transactional-data to support its value determination.
