They didn't add the option to display the RPMs on the new 850 Stone?
I saw that as a real miss on the V7III bikes. You know it is being monitored because you can set the shift light. They should have made it one of the display options. I usually leave mine on ambient temperature because I don't need to see any of the other display options constantly.

The Guzzi app does it.

Does it provide a lot more information to make the $300 cost worth it?
It would be cool if the new Garmin GPS could interface to the multimedia unit and display the RPM in a corner.
Setting the shift light has helped me learn where the bike's happy place is regarding cruising RPMs and shifting before hitting the rev limiter, but it would be nice if Moto Guzzi had just put the RPMs in the display like so many other manufacturers do.

I don't understand the need for a tach other than tradition. The programmable shift light seems adequate and the V7III has a rev limiter as well.
A tach is fun for the boy racer crowd but how many of them buy V7 bikes?

"Need" is a funny term.
There are a lot things we don't "need" probably including Motorcycles themselves (though I could argue both sides of that coin too).
But the V7III is the ONLY bike on which I don't have a tach, and I DO MISS IT sometimes.
Need, nahhh, but I like having an idea where I'm holding the rpm sometimes.
Also useful in tracking things like abnormal vs normal engine operation with idle etc.
And considering even every HARLEY has had a tach display available in the odo for almost the last decade, I mean WTF Moto Guzzi - you have the data, just give us one less stupid average mph function in the menu and add in ENGINE RPM.
Dumbassess....

I agree, why they didn’t integrate a tach makes no sense, in the same way Guzzi didn’t include auto turn signal cancellation even though it has been comon place on motorcycles for over 30 years!
The Guzzi app offers lots of info, some of which is actually useful. It’s free to download and play with, if you then think it’s not your favorite tea biscuit, just delete it.
Also, the MGMP, which is needed to make the app work is available for around $220.

Thanks. I was looking at total cost. I would need a phone holder, and an old phone to mount there to display the information.

Totally agree with Kev M on this issue and it is a big part of the reason that my V7lll is the Milano variant.
I hope you find an option that is simple and suitable to your taste.
