I am loving this bike!
An old Hepco-Becker rear box from an EV I had and a new shield.
Oh and I removed the plastic emblems on the side covers.

Love that color! Wish they had made the rear fender the same vs. black.

Hepco Becker rear rack ?
Which windshield is that ?
-
No offense, but that box on the back looks WAY too massive for that bike. Maybe it’s just the camera angle?

None taken
The camera angle does make it look bigger but it will hold 2 helmets. Anyway since its quick release I can jettison it quickly.

The shape is not aerodynamic, but it is definitely how it is loaded that could affect handling. On most of my bikes with top cases they are used to lock gear and helmets up when stopped or used to carry my pillows and blankie when on a trip.

Did someone say Aerodynamic? Baby's got back  Though angle and photos do distort some.

That didn't take long Jack!

Nope, it hindsight I should’ve gone with the V7 instead of the Duc but now I can say I’ve at least owned one Ducati. :cheesy:

p.s. Another pic of the cavernous top box which is only loaded when stopped btw. My buddy says it could hold half a hog, lol!

I'm guessing that's the big Junior - either the 50L that I run sometimes, or the 55L that Jay runs sometimes. Yeah it's big, but useful when you want/need it.
Also doesn't look as big when running side bags too... and if you're bigger than midget size (like don't need extension pedals on your government vehicles ).

I'm guessing your fuel economy takes a dive at highway speeds.
-
That much luggage? Filled with? Too high. Too wide. Too long. I used to camp with a tank bag; and still see the gages, plus a quart of fuel, water and little else. It's the handling with all that surface area and the weight - so far back after loading. BTDT enough times.
I did 'fly the rear' rounding a clover leaf once - too much verticle area on the tail rack. There's always commercial shipping.
It's a ride unencumbered. The motorcycle performs as always, with far less chance of something going bad.
YES, I'm way older than you. Good fortune, R3~

Meh, to each his own.
I've been LD touring riding 30 years with the same formula, across several MC platforms. Right case is tools, compressor, fuel, rain gear and extra gloves. Left bag is clothes, toiletries, water. Topcase is tent, sleeping bag, camp stove, grazing snacks, light food items. Tank Bag is optional, mostly for convenience items.
I've had over 75lbs in the bags on the Stornello, and as it was no canyon carver to begin with, find that the weight settles the bike nicely and makes longer rides more tolerable.

OK, so here are preliminary pictures of a National Cycle Street Shield EX mounted on a 2022 V850 Special.
National Cycle part number N2567-01 quickset for 7/8" handlebars
It's a handlebar mount, and also mounts to the fork tubes. It's a nice, solid mounting system, even at interstate speeds. No rattles.
Sort of a pain in the butt to mount - BUT there's a lot of ways to adjust it.
Took it out for a little 60 mile ride. There is some amount of fine buffeting. Many windshields do this.
Will do some adjusting tomorrow in order to discover the best fit.

That’s a nice looking shield, I’m considering it myself. I think it fits the bike nice. I’ve been trying to decide if I want a larger one like that or a smaller one that is only chest high. Do you look over the top of yours? I’d be interested in hearing an update on yours now that you’ve had it a while.
