Title: Solar system
Post by: rudyr on April 23, 2022, 06:23:55 PM
I have 3, 200 watt panels on my camper trailer.  I ran a fan lights tv & refrigerator (on gas) today with a few clouds.  It ran everything + 2 100 amp hr. Battery. Fully charge.  No ac or microwave yet. Now if fuel wasen’t so high.Rudy

That would be great for our summer rate electric.

Probably won't be running the air conditioner too long on solar tho. Always park where there's a breeze

I have a 120 volt plug made with to males.  Going to plug into my 2000 watt inverter and then my trail 120 volt recepticel to see how long my microwave will boil water.  I have a soft start kit for my ac(not installed yet) want to see how long that will work.  The ad said could run the ac with a 2000 watt generator will see.Rudy

If you can get the AC to start on a 2000 watt inverter, and that will be difficult, you are going to be pulling close to 150 amps from the batteries I suspect.
It will be interesting to see how many minutes they can handle that.

Will depend on the surge capacity of the inverter, some are better than others and how big the ac unit is.
