Went for a ride today with my neighbors Tony and Ellie.
As we are new to the area they graciously offered to show me some of the great roads around our new home.

Left Fruita CO and headed to CO141. What a wonderful ride!

Stopped at Gateway for a snack.

This was our turn around point.
After 35+ years in Northern CA it was nice to see some new scenery.
We LOVE our new Colorado home. Don't miss California at all.
Thank you again Tony and Ellie!!

141 is one of my favorite roads. Check out Utah 128 (not far from away from CO 141) soon. And, of course, the "million dollar highway" (555), also not far from there.

Still 50 degrees and raining here...

Is the car museum still open in Gateway? I heard it went bankrupt.

During the summer season, riding around the Durango / Silverton / Ouray / Telluride area of Colorado is magical! :thumb: :boozing:
Thinking about that Guzzi NAR gathering in early Sept. in Ouray...See the thread here about that event  :boozing:

The next stretch south from Gateway to Naturita is one of the best roads in the US IMO. Twisty as can be, truly amazing scenery, no traffic.

The website shows that it is apparently still open. Great visit if you are in the area...

...and all the way into Telluride, then down to Lizard head pass, to Cortez and do the "loop". Some of the best riding in the country!
