Well I was out on the convert for a short ride, 66 miles and I came across this in the Amana's in Iowa. I don't know the history of it and nobody was around, plus I was in their backyard, looked all complete minus the throttle cables and fuel lines  :violent1:

WOW, what is the story there? Whatever the original reason, the current property owner MUST either be maintaining it as yard art, or is an old person who hires someone else to mow around it, and THEY have no authority to move it.

But my bigger wonder is why was this a Loop, and not a Honda or some other more prevalent Japanese bike from the era. I never run into abandoned Guzzis (whine).

Maybe the original owner is 6 feet under it?

Sorry JJ that is cool but I would do the guzzi although I don't understand why they would do that,  I hope to find out one day the history about it, I just hope they don't tell me it ran when they parked it  :bike-037: :violent1:

Your bike.  Your rules.  Get over it.  If you're so offended, go beat the owner into submission with your $$$$$$ and prove how much it matters.

If the owner of that bike said your guzzi was "sad" or "not right" because it didn't have ape hangers straight pipes and a leopard sheepskin-covered king & queen seat seat (or was half-buried in your lawn) like he thinks it should have, you would probably tell him he should mind his own business...  It's on private property and if they didn't own it, It probably wouldn't still be there.  That is no casual accident. I cut pieces of stone all the time that have already cost more to buy than what that bike would cost to buy (or sometimes to restore...) before I ever touch them so it's just raw materials for sculpture.

Personally, I like the day lilies.  that's a nice & original touch that no one here had done with their Guzzi.  If it was just another running original/restored/whatever regular Ambassador/Eldorado.  It wouldn't be the icon that folks here will remember as that guzzi that's half buried in someone's yard surrounded by flowers & supposedly going to waste. Dude that did that is bending your head and y'all are missing the point.  He isn't talking about your guzzi....  Very cool
