Not a bad price if its legit.
-
Drool..
-
Very reasonable. Won’t last long at that price.
Anyone know what those mufflers are?
-
WOW.
Why couldn't this have come up 6 weeks ago... a 1000s under 10k 2hrs from my house. Shit. I just bought a CX100 and a couple watches instead       This is heartbreaking
-
Man...that is a real classic beauty!! :thumb:   Price is reasonable also!!
Wish I had the disposable lettuce...(*SIGH*)
-
The bike that turned me on to Guzzis!! Sweet looking, and a nice price. Unless something is wrong it should move along pretty fast to its new rider.

Mufflers are Dunstall replicas, I have them on my Cali2.

1993 - small valve, small carb, 1000 SP engine. Had I known these 1000S bikes would have reached some kind of cult status, I probably would not have sold my 1991 model 1000S, that is the more desirable one with the big valves and 40mm carbs. Certainly a forerunner to the current retro craze.
-
This 93 sold for $21,500, can't imagine a big valve would sell for much more as the draw of these bikes is aesthetics not HP.

Makes me wonder why this guy is selling his for this price as it could easily go for $18K.

If it's legit that'll go fast, I'm surprised a vulture hasn't picked it up already to flip it on BAT.

For some reason, I'm not thinking this is legit. I emailed him/them/whoever this morning and this was the response:
"I did not do proper research on pricing my machine, as I've received numerous offers. What are you willing to offer?

Oh you guys are hard to please. Maybe the poor old guy just found out the value after posting it and now he wants to get more than he asked. Didn’t it say original owner? Could be he’s old and not in tune to the current Guzzi world.

Could be, but if it was me I'd pull the ad and do some research.
-
Reading the ad it sounds pretty legit to me. Too well written to be a scammer, I think. My guess also is he just doesn't realize the actual value. JMO. I saw a similar bike last summer, gorgeous.

Someone could email him and accept his offer of $9750. That might be a binding contract. Offer to send cash or tie the bike up in court.
I wouldn't do it, but somebody might.

It's been removed from Cycle Trader.

On one hand, I don’t blame him for renegotiating the sale price. After all, it’s his bike. But, it sure leaves a sour taste when a seller does this. Serious interest sometimes wanes when this happens.
-
If I discovered I was selling something for half of market value, I'd pull my add too.

Are we saying that BAT selling price is 'market value'?
There was another 93 1000S on BAT, much nicer than the one that sold for $21K, and only 16 months prior. It only bid to $16,500, stalled, and didn't hit reserve.
-

No. I believe the point was the sell price of $9500 for such a nice example of a 1000S was too cheap. We assumed due to an uninformed seller.
