Hi All.
I have had to take off the engine oil sump on my 2016 Norge 1200 GT 8V and now need to reinstall it.
It has 14 bolts around the perimeter and 4 more in the recess where the oil filter screws on - all 18 bolts fit a 5mm hexagon/allen key.
My questions are:
1) What is the torque spec for these bolts? (This is the most important question for me)
2) Is applying gasket sealant recommended in addition to the gasket itself?
3) Is applying thread-locker to the bolts recommended?
Thanks for your consideration.

From the service manual ;
Oil sump fixing screw M6 10nm/ 7.37 ft. lbs.
I never use a torque wrench on these small fasteners, I use a long tee handle Allen and tighten until it just flexes slightly,
sealant on gasket? Not necessary , I do wipe mine with a light bit of grease
Lock tight not required , I would just re check after a couple of heat cycles

Thanks Lucian for taking the time to reply to my post.
No gasket sealant sounds good to me since there was none obvious used on the existing gasket when I initially removed the sump.
Similarly the bolts did not appear to have any thread lock applied. Albeit some of the stainless steel bolts had some randomly located white'ish substance which I suspect has resulted from oxidative corrosion of the alloy.
Curiously your service manual states 'M6' sump bolts as opposed to the M5 bolts used on my 2016 Norge. Still it gives me some idea of the max torque I should observe.

When I did that to a Tiger 1050 I used some correctly sized stainless lock washers for the sump bolts. The heat would get the OEM fasteners to loosen up a bit, but not always-hence the lock washers. Never needed attention after that.

M6 refers to the thread size, Allen key size should be 5mm

Thanks 'kingoffleece' - I hadn't considered using washers.
And 'Lucian' thanks again - I did not realise that M6 related to the thread diameter, not the Allen key size. Much appreciated!
I can now get on with the job.
