what are you looking for in boots? Armored tennis shoes, short mix boots, mainly used for walking around with short trips on the bike? Short as in below calf or short as in barley cover the ankles there are so many styles out there from short boots that Ar hard to walk in but protective to converse with hard pucks in the ankle bone.

Forma is a good brand and I own a pair but I don’t have any short riding boot unless you count my Justin work boots but that may not fit “short” nor “riding specific”  I hav owned the shorty boots before but found them no more comfortable than the taller versions. My wife on the other had likes her short tennis shoe like boots, but if we do over night or mountain roads she even takes her normal riding boots. She does ride her own bike

My boots were so hot I finally looked at the short boots, I wanted the Sidi Meta but they were out of my size so I went with the TCX Air Wave, more of a tennis shoe with support and ankle protection, better than sneakers but not riding boots but allow air to pass, easy to walk in and I hope I never have to try them out  :boozing: I'm taking them out for my third time today for a longer ride on the convert for the DGR ride.  :bike-037:

Depends how short you mean. I’m a fan of the boots Chippewa used to make for LL Bean — brown captoe “engineer” boots, but 6” lace ups and not the taller slip ons most people associated with engineers.  They are out of production, replaced by LL Bean as I recall with imitation  non-US made boots. But still often available close to new on the Ebay.

Yes, I was looking at these:

Alpinestars Faster 3 Rideknit

And:

Reax Fulton Air Riding Shoe

Not 100% pleased that there is no real lace lock on these.

Not sure of the model# but these are about 10 YO and still waterproof. Easy on easy off,

Daytona AC Classics. Possibly the most comfortable boot I've ever owned.  Buy by shoe size though, don't add on 1/2 size or whatever.

Depends on what you want.  Water-resistant? Water-proof (ie: Gore-Tex $$) Summer vented? Lace up? Zip-up? Buckle?  The choices are endless.  I usually find something on line I like that's on clearance or discontinued to save some serious dough.  Granted, it will be a bit of a gamble on fit, but I've only had to exchange one pair over the years that were too small.  As far as brands are concerned, I've had good results with Sidi & Icon.  Recently bought a close-out pair of stylish (brown) TCX lace and zip short boots.  So far, I like them a lot.  They are supposed to be "waterproof" but I've yet to test that.  Most shorty boots let water in around the top, since the waterproof liner inside is shorter still.

Looking for summer vented/easy on/easy off. I just ordered these and see how they will do:

I use the desert mil-spec boots in hot weather.
Cool, comfortable and offer excellent foot/ankle protection. Reasonably priced, around 80 bucks for a good quality pair.

Converse Chuck Taylor Leather All-Stars with some sort of kevlar/ballistic shoelace. That works for me. No armor/padding but enough abrasion resistance for my mind
