I have to admit I was intimidated by replacing the grips on my Norge and ruining the heaters :smiley: . I finally got up the nerve and here is what I found. Well first, I took my time and it was pretty simple.

Here I am cutting from the bar end with a razor knife after removing the bar ends. You can see the heat tape and where the wires connect. This is the the throttle side. I already did the other side before I decided to do this. The left grip had a bead of glue along the grip but the throttle grip side was glued at the base. I used my new sharp blade to hold tension and make gentle cuts to free the grip. I did draw blood when I poked myself with the knife.

Here you can see the original grip and the molded reliefs for the wires. The connections on the left grip stuck out a little more then the throttle side. Anyway, I thought it best to cut reliefs in the new grips to keep pressure and wear off those connections.

So they turned out just fine. You need two grip sets and just use the bigger of the two for each side. I had never realized the bike had to be running to turn them on. That scared me when they didn’t work. Worked after I started the bike up…

Bought two sets of these grips ($9.90) and used this hairspray. Can’t remember what I used on my last grips but it never got tacky. This stuff was great.
Hope this helps. I would assume other same year bikes would be the same.

You brought up a VERY good point. When you put aftermarket grips on, you NEED to make room in the new grip for the wires!!!!!! I found a dremel type tool with a small sanding drum worked great.

Well mate.
If you spend enough time with Guzzi’s, that’s the only use you’ll have for hairspray, because you’ll have no hair left after tearing it all out…!
