Thinking of going with these for my 2010 V7C.

Wanted to get y'all's trusted input.
Are these any good? And how's the install?
Thanks, yo.

Not sure by what you mean regarding “any good,” but SW Motech makes quality stuff.

I have swmotec crash bars on the T7 quality stuff

Been thinking about buying the Cortech 2.0 bags and rear top case for the V7 850 Special. Saw it at last years rally. Quality bags. The owner was satisfied.

They look similar to the single bag supplied as an extra for the Indian FTR1200 (silencers are on the right hand side).
Same crude means of closing them (but not lock them). But then if you are only carrying a small load, it makes them more versatile.
-
Yep, got them on my V9
They look great, come with roll top waterproof liners and can be quickly attached or removed from the bike. They also come in 2 sizes these are the 15l itre IIRC

The quick removal is the only downside IMO as there is no means to lock them to the bike
However the URBAN ABS Side Cases can be locked to the bike and go onto the same frames

The frames are very discrete IMO

I considered the SW Motech bags when I was shopping, and I do like them and am sure they are good quailtiy.........bu t they are crazy expensive for what they are. For what it's worth, I went with the Givi CRM106 bags and the required mounting device that goes over the seat......don't know the part number. Here is a link that has the whole kit. And a pic of my bike on a recent 1,000 mile trip. They hold 13 liters each, which with the 40L waterproof bag I bought, held around 8 days worth of gear, incl 2 bottles of wine for Ncdan.

Yeah, that's pretty killer. I appreciate the input! Do you have any concerns in terms of these bags not locking to your bike? Though I guess that would also apply to the SW Motech bags. I ride in NYC, so that's why it's coming to mind for me now.
-
Oh boy....NYC....like to visit but would not ride there...........I give you credit. I wouldn't use ANY soft cases in NY. And these do strap on to the shock or grab handle, or whatever you have. But they could still be taken off in20 seconds probably. I think that is probably true of the SW Motech bags as well. Finding locking hard cases that look good on a V7 is a tricky issue. I take my bags with me.......they have handles, when I overnight. Takes about 1 minute each to put them back on. Best of luck on your quest.

I have the LC2 bags for my 2018 V7 Stone and they've worked pretty well for me, I've had them for a little over a year. I like the look of the Urban ABS hard bags, but I don't really trust zippers to be reliable as the only thing holding them closed, having experienced zipper failures on some of my riding gear. How long have you had them/how regularly do you use them, and what's your feeling as far as how long they're likely to hold up?
-
To be honest they're not as robust as perhaps a Givi, but they do the job.
I'm conscious of the zipper but not excessively. Just need to remember to not over stuff them.
I wouldn't call them flimsy, but they are designed for minimal weight.
Note the bike came to me with the LC luggage, but I wanted something locked to the bike hence the Urbans to keep the opportunist thief honest
