Title: An 850 Scrambler? Why not an 850 Sport/Tour?
Post by: willowstreetguzziguy on July 08, 2022, 02:46:05 PM
Maybe I’m out of it but the 850 is already in a Street/Dirt model in the 850 TT. Enlighten me here as to why an 850 Scrambler makes more sense sales and popularity wise for the company and riders than an 850 Sport or an 850 Sport/Tour at this time? Maybe the rumors are wrong and it’s a more contemporary version of the V7.

I don’t see ANYTHING scrambler about this bike other than what somebody wrote about mildly more aggressive tires. Seems to me like people are being influenced by the V85 in the name and maybe thinking the X means off-road. I think they’re just going for “edgy”.

Looks like a poor man’s street standard, like you’d expect from Honda’s base range.

Ummm, there’s a 1000 sport tourer already on the blocks.

And why not a cruiser in the California image?  Light weight, good wind protection (we can dream, can't we?), comfy seat, luggage and maybe even floorboards.  What's not to like?  It would certainly fill a gap in the lineup.
