Title: Moto Morini 3.5
Post by: sdcr on July 09, 2022, 03:33:16 PM
There is a Moto Morini 3 1/2 currently for sale on a unnamed website that will remake nameless, so that this thread can abide by the rules. I will say that the site is partial to trailers.

It’s located in Latrobe Pa. anyone here familiar with this particular machine? Charlie?

I know of the seller, but not the bike. Over all, a nice, original Morini that could use some "tidying up" to look it's best.

Thanks Charlie.
It’s one of those bikes that I’ve always wanted, but never got. So, I have a slight dilemma, keep bidding on the chrome bore Ambassador, or try for this.
Is the Sport pretty rare?

Yes, drum-brake Sports are relatively rare and worth a few $$. One of my customers has three! I restored #1 and have rebuilt the engine for #2, disassembled engine #3 so he can vapor blast the cases.

Like a dumba$$ I passed on one back in '85. Fred Heistand offered me one in very nice condition for $1800. i passed because the forward position of the (stock) pegs made feel like I was stuffed butt first into a garbage can.  Bought the '80 50 Strada instead, then the '86 350 K2 a few years later.

Okay, here's a quiz;  What engine feature do Morini and Guzzi smallblocks share, that make them amongst the last road machines in the world to use?

Heron heads. Morini did it much better.

Yes, Heron heads.  Once a design of aircraft and performance cars, now just a step in the history of engine development.

I serviced the bike for this seller. An excellent example of a unmolested original survivor. Runs like a top.
