Need your help.
I see the “shiny hats” but is this the best and final fix that I read about on the hydro?
It’s on a 2004 EV that I’m looking to buy.
Pics of single or dual clutch to follow.
Thanks in advance for your expeditious help.

Yes it has had a recall done. I "think" the only way to tell which one is the cam and the hydro lifters?
The only thing that bothers me in the pics is the brass shims. I need to look at my EVT, but I think there should only be one brass shim per rocker, it looks like you have 2 per rocker. The other thing is that "normally" the shim and spring would be set up with the shim against the rocker block and the spring against the rocker. I don't know if that makes any difference, but "most" bikes have the spring against the rocker.
Hope this helps a bit,
Tom

It does, I guess the thing I’m seeing is the broken off studs and shiny hats so it should be good to go?

Nope 2 per rocker otherwise you have a cast steel rocker bearing against an alloy rocker support.

Thanks Phil!

IIRC, on square-fins there are two brass shims on either side of the rocker and a steel shim against the alloy rocker support, spring between the brass and steel. That's why I made an alignment drift - to get all the bits lined up so I could get the pin back in more easily.

I didn't know that the square fins were set up this way. Thanks for the info!!

This is how my EV looked after the work was done. Snapped off valve adjuster is the indicator.
