Title: Part #/Source for HF565 Wrench
Post by: Stretch on July 18, 2022, 11:28:38 AM
Good Afternoon!

I can't seem to source an oil filter wrench for the HF 565 HiFlo filter locally.

Suggestions, Part numbers?

Thanks!

I would think that most decent auto parts stores should have one. Harbor Freight has a kit of different sizes. Where ever you try, bring the filter with you to make sure it has a very snug fit in the socket/wrench.

If you don't mind ordering one. You could look at this one, just make SURE it is the correct one for your filter. Might even call them to be sure:

Thanks for the suggestions.

I have 15+ oil filter wrenches already - none of which fit.

So I ordered 2 from Harper's - we'll see how they go.

I thought about the big set from Harbor Freight; 24 or so individual wrenches.
But who needs 40 oil filter wrenches?! (Apparently I need more than 15 - but
40?!?)

We have a whole sack of those tin caps that fit over the end of an oil filter - and none of them fit that 1400 oil filter.

Found the closest one that was a fuzz too big, and lined the inside with a couple layers of duct tape and it worked well.

I'm such a redneck.
