Removing the rear wheel on a 2001 Jackal. What size allen to remove rear axle?

Either larger or smaller than the one you have ...

It is the size of the oil line connector on inside of head. I had extra so I cut it off and use it for axles & such. Might be 14mm or at least 13mm. I'll go look. Be back.

While Steve is looking. If you have the tool kit that came with the bike, there is a short hex rod in it. That should be the axle tool. Just insert it into a correct size socket/ratchet and your ready.

Socket said 14mm. Fits most w/allen in axle. You may have one like Tom says.

Wow, it was an hr but I was hungry. Then forgot what I went there for, and so on.

That's why it's either larger or smaller than the one you have ... Or in your case, don't have.

I've got one you can borrow, if you want to come over.

I reread your question. You said rear wheel not front. Ooopppsss.

Rear S/B 14mm, at least on my '04 EVT.  Could be 8mm that some bikes used for the rear.

You may not need it. Remove the nut, loosen pinch bolt, remove axle. to install, install axle, install nut and tighten. If axle spins before you get it tight enough. Tighten pinch bole, tighten axle nut, loosen pinch bolt , tighten axle nut again, tighten pinch bolt. That should have the axle nut properly tight.

If you don't have a fourteen, you may be able to do something with two sevens ...
