40,000 klm service and I had the fuel filter changed, its not in the service schedule. It sits in a housing with the fuel pump and sender unit. The Service manager thought I was on about the mesh filter at the pickup, so he learned something today as well. Its supposed to be transparent light yellow in colour.

What do they use for fuel down under?
Looks like it is etching the fuel tank.

Dont know about the colouring, but Ive seen several and all are the same dirty colour.

Old filters in my experience get golden yellow in color but the fuel still looks clear. The inside of the tank is black, the best I can tell which is why I wondered about that.

FWIW, KTM 500 dirt bikes use the same filter. Online opinions say that the filters turn black due to the wear of the fuel pump brushes. That one does not look bad at all compared to the ones I have seen in the 500 groups.
