Has anyone found a pair of modern replacement instruments for a Loop Eldorado? I think I am on the 3rd tachometer (recent failure a Spanish reproduction that only reads 1/2 actual rpm) and on the second speedometer.
I need an electronic tach and a mechanical speedometer to fit the original dash bezel. Not hung up on the face plates appearing stock, just want a reliable pair of gauges that work and the needles don’t flop around at speed.
Thanks
Jim

I know that people have had success using the Speedhut gauges on MG V11s. I think the speedo is GPS or can run off a magnetic pulse switch coming off of the speedo drive or wheel. I believe they can reproduce an instrument face graphic if you provide it.

for the speedo i can recommend the GPS speedo's widely available on ebay/aliexpress
i have one on my lario and 750 ntx , they have been fine for the last 30.000 km.

they also make matching universal tachometers

When the tach on my Eldo quit working I went with a Drag Specialties tach from JP Cycles around $65. I think it was replacement for a 70s sportster. The dia was a little smaller so slipped it into a short piece of 3 in exhaust pipe painted black. It looks so similar to the speedo minus the eagle most people don't even notice.

I bought the big Koso Multi-function analog round one with integrated idiot lights (BA035k00 TNT-01), but that was for the civilian/single gauge dash. It would need a small trim ring fabricated or 3-d printed, as it is about 4mm small for the opening... But I sold it with my v65 cafe project, otherwise I would post some pics
Also Canuck, If you want a single-gauge dash to make this conversion, I have one in great condition I can send you for shipping. Your contributions to to forum are legendary... Just shoot me a PM, I can send pics for your consideration

I like that the bezel appears to be removable and I could then make a larger diameter bezel out of aluminum to suit, plus a tach and speedo all in one!!

I am still looking for a suitable aftermarket replacement tach to fit the civilian eldo dashboard, with 2 instruments. The speedhut ones I have adapted to my 98 EV, and my Cal II, were a little bit too big, in order to look "correct" next to the oem Veglia speedo.

Yes Speedhut make really nice gauges, they will add a graphic if you send them the file.
I was an early user of these gauges on my VII Sport.
They will even set the odometer to match your old broken gauge.
go with the reset button that plugs into the rear, not the one installed through the glass.
I made a simple reed switch based pulse input for mine. it sat in the gearbox cable drive and pulsed twice per revolution
Once you have a pulse input then you have to calibrate the gauge, this is very simple if you can borrow a runners watch with distance readout. Just press start cover a fixed distance then press End.

get the chinese GPS speedo , and get the matching rev counter
something like 120 euro for the pair ,

The only problem with substituting the tach in a civilian dash is the diameter of the gauge faces so they fit in the dash . It would be much easier with one of the single gauge dashboards, with the larger gauge.
