Hi all,
Looking to do some longer rides this year like Buffalo NY to Elkader Iowa. I was thinking about adding a radio/media player. Does anybody have suggestions? Will the alternator handle the current required?

I recommend earplugs instead. I’m pretty anti-radio on motorcycles—there’s enough noise pollution as it is, and you see so many motorcyclists blasting their radios or pipes for all to hear. Ear plugs will at least save your ear and keep your neighbors friendly.
Besides, Journey’s overplayed as it is :D

I have the system offered by Nolan but if I hadn’t purchased it I would have bought the Cardo Packtalk. Friends have them and they are voice activated plus you can link up to others with Cardo devices. It has phone, radio, music. if you shop around prices are lower than below. On the Nolan system, I only use the music and Google maps but it’s antiquated compared to the Cardo.

I'm no a fan of trying to ride with music. However, I've had good luck using my smartphone to listen my own music and to stream Pandora and my local NPR station. I did that driving on a recent trip and using Bluetooth.
I once borrowed a friend's Sena & earphones while riding on a trip. I didn't care for that but it does work. I just prefer not to be distracted when I ride.
