Title: 2012 Griso roller kit question
Post by: fanattic on October 04, 2022, 05:48:38 PM
Hi folks, I have a 2012 Griso that needs the roller cam upgrade. Can anyone give me a quick update on what's available these days?
I just spoke with Harper's (Curtis?) and he said there was only one kit now for all engines, but he couldn't remember what the differences were between the old A, B, etc kits.
If I remember correctly, my SN is within the range of the last batch of non rollered engines they made.
I'd like to make sure this new kit is going to work before ordering.

Thanks, for any help!

If there’s currently only one kit for all versions you may as well place the order with Harper’s to get that inbound.

Get the 3 kit numbers and look at AF1 for availability, I have not heard what he said.

Do a search the kit #'s are here somewhere.

Found my Tech Bulletin #2014-004, tells you what ea kit is, and how to see what you need.
Kit A- #1A002060
     B- #1A002063
     C- #1A002082
Just checked availability, ALL 3 are available still, 2 show up this month & 1 will show up in Dec if ordered today. Price is $1226.00

Thanks for the answers so far. Looks like what I need to do first is determine exactly which kit I need. I just skimmed through Pete Roper's 'definitive guide to rollerazation' on GrisoGhetto and I would guess I need a 'B' kit, but should remove a valve cover and possibly the tank before ordering.
Money is tight for me, so I want to make sure I'm ordering the correct kit.

B Kit is what my 2011 Griso received.

I installed the B kit in my 2012 Stelvio.

Here are a couple of pics of my rockerarms/cam box on the left cylinder.
Looks like I need a 'B' kit?
Still having trouble weeding through all the old posts to figure out which one.

Well, I tried uploading 2 pics, and there was html code from the upload added to my post below, but I don't see any pics as of yet. Perhaps it takes a while?

My document, tech bulletin 020-2013, shows that 2010 1/2 and later Grisos get a kit A. Earlier than 2010 1/2 get kit C.

The kit has to do with the spark tube length, a drilling spot on side of head, what valve covers you have. It's not hard to figure out.

Ok, so apparently I need an 'A' kit. I pm'd Pete Roper on GrisoGhetto and he confirmed.
I ordered the kit from AF1, and they said it should arrive by the end of the month.
Hopefully all is good.
It will be nice to get the Griso running again. It's been way too long.

Thanks everyone for your help!
