Title: Dart flyscreens on Grisos
Post by: Tim Henry on October 13, 2022, 11:00:46 PM
A few weeks ago i bought a 07 griso with a dart flyscreen. It looks marvelous but is most useless all it does is blast my helmet at eye level so off it went  i prefer the equal wind blast over this fashion item anyone else have similar thoughts ?

I like mine (classic), but many go for the Marlin over the Classic.

Mines the Marlin, I fab'd handlebar risers and this combo keeps direct wind blast off chest.
Most noticeable at higher speeds of course.
Even these marginal shields keep driving rain out of Instrument panel. Some sun protection for them also..
Helmet is still in "clean" air.
Here I've added a "lip" shield to the Marlin for a trip down to Louisiana I took.

How has that "lip" worked out?  I get helmet buffeting with my Marlin, so much so that I took it off.

The previous owner was a foot taller than me so it probably was fine for him. My last griso was a 8v and i never thoght the blast was terrible at above lose your licence velocities but this thing is destined for the trashcan unless someone really can't live without one

Agreed...I tried the Classic first also on the Griso, then switched to the Marlin.  Clean smooth air, enough chest protection for normal riding.  At hooligan speeds of course, not much protection...

I’ve been wanting to try a Dart screen on the Griso but always hesitated between the classic and the marlin.
I like the minimalist look of the classic but the marlin offers more protection...
I’ll take it off your hands if you’re just gonna chuck it...

There was a wee bit of further wind protection on that 1500 trip though the lip did oscillate back and forth just slightly which drove me batty..

I've never had a Dart screen since I always thought they looked like poor designs. I have an OEM flyscreen on my Griso, and a Givi A201 on my T3. (The A201 is the same shield as the discontinued A200 I used to have, minus a steel nameplate.) Both are helpful above 80 mph and don't produce buffeting at any speed.

MRA speed screen is by far the best high speed screen I have tried.

I am not going to spoil the look of the bike as i did plenty of long days on my 15 griso  without a screen before i wrecked it Antmanbee can attest to the conditions i put that bike through i find it amazing how the shape of the speedo breaks up the blast to manageable non tiring. I guess everyone has differnt levels of tolerance but the dart is available for just cost of shipping might even be able to deliver if in florida plus im going to Ft Jackson sc for sons bct graduation if anyone is near columbia mid next week i can put it in the jeep. Btw its in near mint condition
