Title: How to remove ads?
Post by: Moda253 on October 24, 2022, 05:24:17 PM
I tried to search for the answer, and I know this must have been asked before, but is there a way to remove the ads? I donated, in part because I feel like the knowledge here is worth the donation, but also in hopes that it would remove the ads.

If they are just a thing to deal with so that the sote stays up and running I can see with them but was curious.

Also I won’t be offended if this topic gets moved or closed or whatever.

Thanks guys.

Ads are a necessary evil required to help pay the bills.

Thank you for the donation.  It's much appreciated.

The ads help fill the gap.

Chrome will get you inundated with ads that cover over 50% of the page. They split content and make the site somewhat less user friendly.
I use Firefox Focus to view the site. The only ads that appear are those directly installed by the webmaster. That's the few items sold by Wildguzzi and Harpers paid ad. So there are 99% less ads and none show up in the content.

As Rocker said, adds pays for the cost of keeping a global forum such as WGC going.
We will have to contend with adds on WGC until we can become self supportive from membership donations.

Many thanks to every member that can offer a donation each year or when they can, to help pay the cost of running our WGC forum.
Thanks for everyone’s support.

Dan

Not a problem. I run a forum as well and totally get it. Thanks for maintaining such a gem of a forum and knowledge base!

If you are a philanthropist I imagine something could be worked out.
